Paulist Productions and its "sister" company, Paulist Pictures, create films and television programs
that both entertain and enlighten. Spiritual values are at the heart
of each production.
The late Fr. Ellwood Bud
Kieser founded Paulist Productions in 1960 to produce the syndicated
series, Insight, consisting of thirty-minute
comedies or dramas that focused on social or religious themes. This
highly acclaimed series shed light on the human condition through
creative and poignant stories and won five Emmy Awards during its
23 year run.
Throughout its history, Paulist Productions
has won numerous other awards including the Christopher Award,
five Gabriel Awards and the Toronto International Film
Festival Award. For The Twelve Apostles,
Paulist Productions won the 2000 Columbus International Film
and Video Festival Award, as well as an Omni Award, Aurora
Platinum Award for Best of Show 2000, and the International
Film and Video Festival Certificate for Creative Excellence.
Paulist Productions was honored with a special achievement award
in 2002 by CineMedia and The Apostle
Paul earned the 2001 Aurora Gold Award.
Paulist Productions has worked with
a stellar line up of talent including Carol Burnett, Patty Duke,
John Amos, Walter Matthau, Ed Asner, Martin Sheen, Blair Underwood,
Jane Seymour, Tim Matheson, Ron Howard, John Wells, Tom Fontana,
Michael Crichton, Rod Serling, Arthur Hiller and many more.
Paulist Pictures has produced two critically acclaimed feature films, Romero and Entertaining Angels: The Dorothy Day Story, both released by Warner Bros. Paulist Productions and Paulist Pictures continue to
develop new projects and are committed to their legacy of incisive,
illuminating and affirming television and film production.
