Frank Desiderio C.S.P.is President of Paulist Productions and a member of the Paulist Fathers. As Executive Producer, Fr. Desiderio's current credits include both MOW and documentary projects. He served as Co-Executive Producer for the ABC/Paramount movie entitled “Judas,” written by Tom Fontana. His latest film is "The Big Question" a documentary that focuses on the healing effects of forgiveness. Other documentary projects include "The Jesus Experience," an eight-hour series examining the effect of Christ in different cultures; an A&E Investigative Report entitled "Healing & Prayer: Power or Placebo;" and documentaries for The History Channel including "Visions of Mary," "Joseph: The Silent Saint," St. Peter: The Rock," and "Judas: Traitor or Friend?" His first series for broadband distribution is "Tyler's Ride."
In addition, Fr. Desiderio is President of the Human Family Educational and Cultural Institute, which awards the HUMANITAS Prize to film and television writers whose work not only entertains, but also enriches the viewing public. Throughout the year the Institute offers Master Writers Workshops given by some of Hollywood's most notable writers.
Following his ordination, Fr. Desiderio became Director of Campus Ministry at the University Catholic Center at UCLA. He then made the transition to radio, producing two weekly religion and public affairs programs for Paulist Communications. At the same time, he earned a Master of Arts degree in Communication Management from the USC Annenberg School for Communication. He also holds a Master's degree in Theology from the Catholic University of America.
Just prior to joining Paulist Productions, he served as rector of St. Paul's College, the Paulist Father's seminary in Washington D.C. Besides being a priest and producer, he is also a poet. His poetry has appeared in The National Catholic Reporter, Prairie Messenger, The Bread of Life and Spring Hill Review. |
